Electric cars are becoming more popular in Canada with each passing year. Although there were less than 100 electric vehicles registered in 2010, over 15,000 are on the roads now.

In February, the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) announced the finalists for the 2016 Canadian Green Car of the Year and Canadian Green Utility Vehicle of the Year awards, as part of the 31st Annual Canadian Car of the Year awards program.
